Categories: Letters to the Editor, Opinion Yes, we all know on TV that Spectrum claims to be good. That’s not as far as I’m concerned. Spectrum is bad. My experience: I was told I had to convert to a Spectrum account. After all was said and done, that cost me around $60 to $70. My monthly bill also went up $25. I called them and after arguing with them, it was reduced $10. But that is only good for one year.I didn’t get any extra channels ( I have just the basic Tiers 1 and 2 ). By the way Tier 1 and Tier 2 are basically the same. You have to have both of them, I was told.Did you also see in one of their pamphlets, that people on Medicaid would receive the box free for five years?Many people I know have expressed their disapproval of this company. Sumner-Cowley Electric Co-op Association reported that three sub-stations are currently without power resulting in 531 members without electricity.The substations of Norwich, Runnymead and Milan are experiencing electrical outages serving the 531 homes. Throughout the past 24 hours Sumner-Cowley Electric said there were 228 members without electricity at 11 a.m. Wednesday, 24 homes out at 5 p.m. and none of the members were out in the evening at 7:46 p.m.As far as the Wellington City is concerned, Cliff Zens of the Electric Department reported about six homes without power and two street lights which were affected by the weight of the ice on the lines.Â “That’s pretty minimal damage for us,” Zens said.
